kdiff3 software package provides compares and merges 2 or 3 files or directories, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kdiff3
kdiff3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kdiff3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kdiff3 *
You will get with kdiff3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
